Europeans Are Terrified Of Trump Winning

The world is on edge ahead of tomorrow's presidential election in the United States. While Hillary Clinton is distinctly viewed as the lesser of two evils, Donald Trump's potential presidency is striking fear into the hearts of Europeans. The probably comes as little surprise, given the level of racism, sexism and xenophobia generated by his campaign.

YouGov conducted a survey to gauge the level of fear among adults about a Clinton or Trump presidency across seven countries: Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and the UK. In every single nation, the pattern is the same. Huge majorities of people fear Trump becoming president. In Germany where the fear level is highest, 65 percent of people said they would be afraid if Trump is elected compared to just 13 percent for Clinton.
