Transit ship calls at the Strait of Hormuz from June 2023 to March 2026, by type of ship

Since the beginning of the U.S.-Israel war with Iran on February 28, 2026, the number of ships transiting through the Strait of Hormuz has decreased dramatically, due to fears of missile and drone strikes on transiting vessels. On March 22, 2026, there were zero tanker ships that made a transit ship call in the Strait of Hormuz, where before the beginning of the conflict on February 27, 2026, the number of transiting tanker ships was 53 . The number of cargo ships transiting through the strait have also decreased significantly.
