Holiday shopping season

Smartphones Are Versatile Holiday Shopping Assistants

Thanksgiving weekend traditionally kicks off the holiday shopping season in the United States. Over the course of the next few weeks, millions of Americans will flock to stores to find the right Christmas presents for their loved-ones. Doing so can be quite stressful but thankfully most people carry around the perfect little helper to make holiday shopping a little bit easier: a smartphone.

According to Deloitte’s 2016 Holiday Survey, 78 percent of American smartphone owners plan to use their device while doing their holiday shopping. Thankfully for physical retailers, finding their way to a brick-and-mortar store is the most popular smartphone activity among holiday shoppers. The chart below shows what else Americans are using their smart shopping assistants for.
