Falling Down Fortnite’s Rabbit Hole

Fortnite, the hottest game of 2018, has tightened its grip on the minds of its players yet again with an upgrade in Season 5. The game has been enormously successful, more than doubling its multi-million-dollar revenue in just three months.

The Season 5 release has parents of young Fortnite players wringing their hands about how to balance game playing with other activities. A recent viral video encapsulates the addictiveness of the game when a teenager continued to play Fortnite through a raging tornado that blew the roof off his neighbor’s house.

Fornite has captured millions of hours in playing time from its users far surpassing its competitors, but the question for the fast-growing game is: will they stay interested?
